When your message doesn’t land, trust breaks down
Your materials may sound like they were written for a funder. They might shift depending on who’s writing. Or they miss the people you most want to include.
Over time, those disconnects create confusion—and weaken trust. I help bring your message back into alignment.
A clear, collaborative process to strengthen your message
The Inclusive Messaging Intensive is a six-week engagement that helps you rebuild your message from the inside out. Your new messaging reflects your values and resonates across audiences.
Together, we:
Choose the level of support that fits your team
Not every team needs the same kind of help. Whether you just need strategy or full support, we’ll tailor the engagement to match your goals.
What changes when your message is clear

You trust what you’re saying

Your team speaks with one voice

Your message connects across audiences

Your values come through—in every communication
What leaders say
“This finally sounds like you’re talking to me, not about me.”
— Executive Director, Community Health Alliance
“Patricia’s voice guide is open on my laptop every day. Our whole team finally sounds like we work at the same organization.”
— Communications Lead, Regional Foundation
“We threw out our old story template the day after Patricia’s training. Our stories are sharper and say more in fewer words.”
— Program Director, Youth Services Org

Meet Patricia Rivera
I help nonprofits, foundations, and public agencies communicate clearly and carefully so their message reflects who they are, reaches the people they serve, and stays consistent across their teams.
I started as a journalist, writing in plain language before plain language was codified by ISO standards. That commitment to clarity still shapes my work. For over 20 years, I’ve helped mission-driven teams find the right words, build trust, and speak in ways people understand.
I’m a certified StoryBrand Guide and a meditation teacher in training. My practice influences how I work: I am steady, present, and focused on what matters.
